The 40,000 psi (approximately 2,760 bar) water jetting unit is the top of a scale. High pressure hydroblasting is divided into three ranges, and the right pressure is the lowest one that removes the deposit: more pressure than needed is wasteful and risks damaging the surface.
| Range | Pressure | Typical application |
|---|---|---|
| SAP (super high pressure) | 10,000 to 20,000 psi (approximately 690 to 1,380 bar) | Heat exchangers, piping and tanks with light to medium deposits. This is the routine range. |
| SUP | 20,000 to 30,000 psi (approximately 1,380 to 2,070 bar) | Heavy cleaning, coke removal, reactors and pressure vessels. |
| UAP (ultra high pressure) | 30,000 to 40,000 psi (approximately 2,070 to 2,760 bar) | Coating removal, cold cutting, concrete cutting and surface preparation for painting. |
TSL operates equipment in all ranges and sets the pressure during the preliminary technical assessment of each job. For the full service overview, see industrial hydroblasting; for rental with an operator, see water jetting unit rental and operation.
It is ultra-high-pressure hydroblasting at 40,000 PSI (about 2,760 bar), used for heavy-duty cleaning, removal of severe scale and industrial surface preparation.
Ultra-high-pressure pumps, special safety hoses, application guns and lances, and nozzles specific to each application.
On shell-and-tube heat exchangers, piping, boilers and furnaces, reactors and process vessels, cooling towers and tanks, in refineries, offshore platforms, petrochemical plants, chemical plants and steel mills.
Specific protective equipment, strict operating procedures, specialized operator training and the use of certified equipment.
